Ray Power

Text: Matthew 5:14-16

         1 Peter 1:10-12

The sun can be described as a ball of fire millions of light years away from the earth. However, energy and radiation travel through that distance in the form of light to illuminate the earth and cause the natural life cycle to continue. Without the sun, the earth would have neither light nor life.

The bible uses this type and shadow of the sun to describe Jesus in Malachi 4:2. He is the true Sun that gives life and illuminates every darkness. The Christian today is often perplexed by the level of “gross darkness” that seems to surround the world. We hail from Zion and we are not of this world but we live here, albeit temporarily. The church has become the recruitment centre for God defying artiste’s and stars and the adversary’s propaganda is being preached on every nook and cranny of the internet highway. Every day, believers are compromising their beliefs when they should be standing out. The work Jesus did on Calvary wasn’t to give salvation alone. No! You became a Joint heir with Him and walk in the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead (Rom 8:11).

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth forth light unto all that are in the house.

Let YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven (Matt 5:14-16)

Did you see that? John shares his epignosis with the church in John chapter one and calls Jesus the True light that lights every man that comes into the world (John 1:9). Unto them that believed, He gave the power to become the sons of God…as He is in heaven, so are we here on earth. It’s easier to understand where Matthew is coming from when he pens, “Ye are the light of the world”! The same ministry Jesus fulfilled on earth, to reconcile men to their Father in heaven has been passed to you. Yes you! We are responsible for the light that shines in our generation. Don’t say you’ve got a little light! The last time I checked, the light you carry in you is Jesus, the hope of glory! The power that heaven wields has been given to you. Isaiah said, the government has been put upon His shoulders (Isa 9:6). The shoulder is part of the body, the body of Christ which you and I are part of. This light of mine is dangerous! It’s for assignment. Depopulating the kingdom of the world and harvesting more labourers into the fold! The light that you carry begets responsibility.

The light that you carry cannot be hid! The bible says of Jesus in the book of Acts

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38)

The supremacy of the New Testament over the Old is not Calvary but the resurrection of Jesus. The Ray Power comes from above! It’s the resurrection power, the unction of the Holy Ghost. It’s manifested in the gifting and anointing you, the believer carries. Jesus Christ was full of the spirit and HE WENT ABOUT DOING GOOD! I believe the realm of doing good is the realm of “so shinning” that men WILL see your GOOD works and glorify Him in heaven. Good works are not picking up the trash on environmental Saturday, or helping an old lady cross the road. No! It’s utilizing the gifting and anointing upon your life to heal, deliver and cause men to live in the Father’s dream. Only the ray power has the ability to shine forth in the darkness of this world. Many churches attempt to do it with the power of the motivational speaking and awesome decorations, but the harvest of the church is in fruits that will remain; men added in the spirit, not just physically. This dangerous light of yours has got to cause illumination in the hearts of men that come around you. Let your light so shine by taking your place in the anointing and being who God has called you to be. Don’t shine in long skirts, believer! That’s just religiosity that will tell the world but not reach the world with the gospel. Don’t take your gifts to American idol or Nigeria’s got talent. God is looking for priests who will sing, preach, act, dance with an anointing that will cause men’s hearts to cut. There’s gotta be the demonstration of the Spirit’s power in this generation.

Why? Because You’ve got the Ray Power!
